Platelet Rich Plasma

YOU WILL HAVE A FASTER RECOVERY AND HEALING TIME FOR YOUR DENTAL IMPLANTS WITH PRP.

Dr. Mehta is one of the few Implantologists in the Tampa Bay area to use the PRP technique which will accelerate the healing period for soft and hard tissue connected with dental implant placement.  This process produces platelet rich plasma.

The process is simple, Dr. Mehta will draw blood from the patient into collection tubes.  It is then spun in a centrifuge for 12 to 18 minutes.  After extracting the red blood cells, they are then compressed into plugs that will be ready for the dental implant process.

When the PRP is placed, it adheres to the implant itself. This can start and enhance the integration of the implant with the bone surrounding the implant.

Once the implants are placed, and at the beginning of the healing process, platelets are some of the first cells to react at the surgical site. This is very important to the start of the healing process.  PRP helps in the acceleration of soft tissue repair and in bone regeneration.  This in turn helps and shortens the healing time of dental implant placement.
